The count of Pilgrims visiting Pushkar Ghats only kept growing in the past few days as no body wishes to miss the divine blessings of Godavari. Inspite of hardships, People are in no mood to skip the holy dip during Maha Pushkaralu which arrives once in 144 years.
A Pregnant Woman's determination to take a holy dip made her visit Kotilingala Ghat in Rajahmundry. However, The pilgrim least expected the pain to grow when she was at the Ghat on Tuesday morning and ended up delivering the baby there itself. Fortunately, Doctors who attended the emergency call gave an assurance that both the mother and baby were fine.
AP Government expected around four crore pilgrims for Godavari Maha Pushkaralu 2015. Upon witnessing heavy rush since Day 1, Officials estimate the actual figure could be much more and arrangements were made accordingly to ensure no untoward incident repeats again. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stayed in Rajahmundry to monitor the situation from control room and he is also visiting Ghats in the nights to take necessary measures.
