AP government has come down heavily on doctors working in government hospitals and PHCs, for running private nursing homes and clinics, against the rules. In Vizianagaram district, scores of doctors working in government hospitals and in health care centres in the villages have private practice. They were not attending duties in the hospitals and referring patients to their own clinics, it was learnt. Following a report by the Medical Adiministrative Board, several such doctors were issued charge memos.
