Chandrababu Naidu has beaten me.' This was stated by Telangana Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy during the budget discussions in the Telangana State Assembly on Wednesday.
In his earlier stint as Minister in the TDP in the combined Andhra Pradesh, Srinivas Reddy said he had opposed the privatisation of the Nizam Sugar Factory in Bodhan in Nizamabad. When he proposed the same to the then Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu jumped up in anger and `beat me up,' he said.
Discretion was part of valour, and Srinivas Reddy did not reveal the physical attack by Chandrababu on him at that time. He was revealing it for the first time now, he said.
Srinivas Reddy said he had appealed to Chandrababu with folded hands not to privatise the sugar factory, which was the lifeline for the people of the area. But what he got in return for his appeal was beating.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy was with the TDP for 27 years, and twice Minister in the TDP Cabinet.
