VIJAYAWADA: Happening city of Vijayawada gets another state-of-the-art multiplex - Capital Cinemas, a joint venture of Suresh Projects and Prasads Group.
With over one lakh sq ft built-up area, the multiplex having six screens is the best in both the states, said Daggubati Suresh, head of Suresh Productions. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate it in the presence of several dignitaries on October 19, he said.
Speaking to mediapersons, Suresh said the new multiplex will be inaugurated simultaneously with ‘Trendset Mall’, the largest mall in Vijayawada in which it is housed. The new shopping mall and multiplex is located at Benz circle.
Elaborating on the new multiplex, constructed with an investment of `20 crore (approx), the ace film producer said his father the late D Rama Naidu, always dreamt of doing something wonderful for Vijayawada city, which till the last few decades had been film capital of Andhra Pradesh.
“All an average filmgoer likes to have in a theatre is value for the money he is spending. Entertainment in a more pleasing ambience with state-of-the-art equipment used for a great movie viewing experience on big silver screen fits the bill. Our effort - Capital Cinemas - is in that direction,” he said.
According to him, there are six screens with a total seating capacity of 1,926 and another screen will be readied in a couple of months’ time. The screens will be 2D, 3D and 4D capable with 7.1 digital sound, Auro 3D sound, 4K projection and stadium like seating for around 2,000 people.
Suresh said they are also considering to expand Capital Cinemas in near future, starting with a similar project in Rajahmundry. He said since the venture has been taken up in Vijayawada, part of the new capital region and most happening place, they have decided on ‘Capital Cinemas’ thinking it fits.
