KCR Directs Ministers to Give Realistic Budget Proposals

HYDERABAD:  Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked his cabinet colleagues to come up with fresh budget proposals, as he was not satisfied with the proposals presented by them.

“The CM wants to do away with routine and outdated method of preparing budget proposals and asked to come up with realistic budget proposals while controlling leakages. Zero-based budget will be introduced this time. The CM will hold discussions with ministers and secretaries of each department for two to three days,” said Irrigation minister T Harish Rao after the four-hour long cabinet meeting in Hyderabad on Sunday.

With the CM asking his ministers to come up with fresh budget proposals, the Assembly session which was earlier proposed to be conducted in February will now be postponed to March.
Rao also made an important decision to expedite the process for regularisation of service of  contract employees by adopting the relevant AP Act.

Being held at a time when TRS is basking in the glory of GHMC elections, the cabinet meeting assumed significance from administration as well as political point of views. But not many decisions were made as the CM is said to have focused more on budget itself.
