Our readers are aware that the sub-committee formed by Telangana government had recommended to allow five Shows daily in all the single screen theatres in the state on all Days. The State government may bring in a G.O. giving its go-ahead soon. The state will be making it mandatory to allot extra 5th show (4PM) for Small Films.
The Noon Show will start as early as 10 AM and the last show of the day will be pushed to 10PM in that night. This will mean that the first show of the day is too early and the last day of the show is too late. Both these shows may register a drop in the collections. This is likely to effect the star films especially.
Already the theaters are struggling to screen four shows per day due to lack of patronage from audience especially on week days. This five shows system will further complicate the issue. The sub-committee also decided to extend the benefits of small films to movies releasing in 50 theaters. Until now, the benefits are given only to the films released in 30 theaters.
