Shops and commercial establishments in crowded Ameerpet area, were demolished for metro works. Officials said that they were demolishing buildings for which they have already given notices. But shop owners said that they have a stay order from courts, for more time. They told the authorities to compensate them adequately before demolishing the shops. But the police threatened them with lathis and forced them to leave, before bringing down the buildings, the owners deplored.
