The poster boy of the communist parties, Kanhaiya Kumar, escaped unhurt when the convoy in which his car was traveling collided with a police escort van and a media vehicle on the way to Shamshabad airport on Thursday.
Because of the mishap, two other vehicles in the convoy also collided following the application of sudden break. Despite the multiple collision, none was hurt.
Kanhaiya was traveling in the car with CPI leader K. Narayana.
Kanhaiya, JNU students union president, would be addressing a couple of meetings in Vijayawada.
The Andhra capital region is already tense with possible incidents during Kanhaiya Kumar's visit. The one public meeting Kanhaiya addressed in Hyderabad at Sundarayya Kendram also witnessed an incident. A BJP allied young man threw a slipper at Kanhaiya. Immediately the left parties members rained blows on the young man. He was arrested by the police.
