TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao conveyed his willingness to attend the October 22 function at Amaravati and also informed AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu that he would go via road, from Suryapet in Nalgonda district, to reach the venue.

He informed Mr Naidu that he would stay overnight at Suryapet and visit the Bezwada Kanakadurga temple before proceeding to the function venue.

It was a cordial 50-minute meeting between the two CMs, which was also attended by TS TD president L. Ramana and Legislature party leader E. Dayakar Rao from Mr Naidu’s side, and Deputy CM Mahmood Ali, ministers K.T. Rama Rao and K. Jagadishwar Reddy from Mr Rao’s camp.

Mr Rao informed Mr Naidu that he would use the opportunity to visit the Kanakadurga temple and fulfil his long-pending vow to present a golden nose ring (Mukku Pudaka) to the deity for fulfilling the TRS’ long-cherished dream of a separate state.

When Mr Naidu told him that he would arrange a helicopter for Mr Rao from Suryapet, the latter said that he would attend the function after worshiping the goddess.

The CMs spoke on other issues too, including linking of rivers and waterways of the two states.

Mr Naidu told Mr Rao that it would be beneficial for both states if they worked together towards the Amaravati-Hyderabad-Mumbai and Hyderabad-Kurnool-Bengaluru industrial corridors on par with the Delhi-Mumbai, Bangalore-Chennai-Visakhapatnam and Delhi-Kolkata industrial corridors.

Mr Naidu later presented Mr Rao with a shawl, a box of sweets and the invitation card for the function along with “Tirupati Prasadam”.
