Hyderabad: Pushed out of the hinterlands of the southern states, CPI Maoists have now infiltrated the hilly forest tri-junction area of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
After the Andhra-Odisha and Telangana state-Chhattisgarh borders, this is now the third most Moist concentrated area that is posing a serious threat to the internal security in south India.
The MHA has agreed to include four districts in the tri-junction area to be included under the Maoist infested areas’ security scheme like in AP.
During the recent 26th meeting of the Southern Zonal Council conducted by Ministry of Home Affairs in Vijayawada, it was stressed by the Centre and states that Maoists’ movements in seven districts in Kerala, five in Karnataka and the Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu needed immediate attention to thwart the Left wing extremists.
