Hyderabad: Social activist Medha Patkar found fault with Andhra Pradesh government for displacing farmers for the sake of constructing a capital city Amaravati in the state.
She said this method is is not the right way of encouraging development in state.Medh a Patkar is the founding member of Narmada Bachao Andolan and the national convener of the National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM).
Speaking during an NAPM meeting in Hyderabad, Patkar said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s primary focus is industrial boom at the cost of agriculture.
She then said that neither Chandrababu nor Prime Minister narendra Modi cannot be proud of inaugurating a capital city after spending crores of rupees.
