The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen has managed to retain its stronghold by winning 42 of the 150 wards of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election on Friday.
In old city, AIMIM workers burst crackers and distributed sweets to celebrate the election results. In Ghansi Bazaar and Gowlipura BJP workers danced to the beats of drums.
However the office of Majlis Bachao Tehreek wore a deserted look as the party could not win a single seat.
