Usually, a tonne is a unit for weight and all the heavy masses are measured in tonnes. However, as per the latest revelations by the CBI in the YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case, tonne was the secret code word to denote cash and used by the Jagan's auditor and YSRCP's Principal Secretary, Vijaysai Reddy. The CBI submitted these evidences to the CBI special court yesterday.

As per the reports, Vijaysai Reddy used this code word to communicate through emails with the Dalmiya Cements' officials and used to mail them saying "3500 tonnes of stock has been received. Send 500 tonnes more stock". The CBI had retrieved a USB drive from Joydeep Basu, an employee with the Dalmiya Cements and crucial information regarding the emails has been recovered.

The CBI came to this understanding about the code word after it carefully analysed the USB drive and the saved mails. Reportedly, Vijaysai Reddy did not even purchase cement or steel from Dalmiya Cements during the dates of these email exchanges and this made the CBI to crack the mystery behind the code word.
