A 15-year-old girl student committed suicide by hanging self from a ceiling fan in her room at Eluru in West Godavari on Wednesday.

Katte Rachana, who hailed from Ramaravugudem of Dendaluru mandal, was a class-X student at a social welfare ashram.

Reports say that Rachana had committed suicide in the wee hours of Wednesday and the watchman, who noticed the girl hanging, informed the ashram's principal.
They later informed the police, who sent the body for autopsy. No suicide note was found at the spot. The girl's parents and family members staged a dharna at the school blaming the school management for the death of the girl.
