Hyderabad : As the mercury has soared to a peak of 46 degrees Celsius in the Telugu states , 27 persons died of sun stroke in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Thursday.

While AP has recorded 14 deaths, 13 persons died in Telangana due to the scorching sun.

While Karimnagar, Nellore and Vijayawada recorded a temperature of 46 degrees , Rentachintala and Khammam recorded 45, Rajahmundry 42, Adilabad, Hyderabad and Warangal 44, and Nalgonda and Nizamabad 43 degrees.

The heat wave will continue for another three to four days, according to Meteorological department.
