Hyderabad: Six bikes which were parked in front of houses were set ablaze by unidentified culprits in the Alwal area in the early hours of Thursday. The two-wheelers belonged to six people from different parts of the area. The culprits, suspected to be two people aged around 25 years started the fire at around 3 am on Thursday morning.
“The CCTV cameras installed in different areas captured two people emptying the petrol tanks and using the same petrol to set afire the bikes. More than 80 per cent of the bikes parked in the area were completely destroyed. We are verifying the CCTV footages and will soon nab them soon,” said inspector S.V. Hari Krishna Alwal police.
However, the victims have no clues about the culprits. One of the victims, Mr Sreenadh Kumar who works as an IT recruiter told the police team, “On Wednesday night at around 2 am I came from office and parked my bike in front of my house near the Hanuman Temple in Ram Nagar Colony and went inside. After sometime, I heard a loud explosion. When I rushed out I was shocked to see my bike was on fire.”
The police has formed special teams to nab the culprits. They have booked a case under Section 435.
