Hyderabad: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) questioned all the three accused in the ‘cash-for-votes’ case, including Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA A Revanth Reddy on the first day of custody. The ACB also decided to keep Revanth in the special SIT office at Basheerbagh for the night while the court, in its order, had said that he should be sent back to jail after 4 pm.

Opposing this move, advocates of Revanth Reddy filed a petition questioning the decision to keep Revanth for the night at SIT office. According to sources, the ACB is believed to have grilled Revanth about the source of money which was taken to the house of the MLA as advance.

It is also learnt that they have sought to know details about the balance Rs 4.5 crore which was promised to be paid in return for a vote. The ACB is also trying to get more information on money, call data and whereabouts of the fourth accused Mattaiah. According to advocate Sudheer Kumar, questions about boarding arrangements for the MLA were also asked. Revanth was questioned for about one-and-a-half hour by a team led by DSP Ashok Kumar.

According to Revanth’s advocate, when they questioned the ACB decision to keep him in SIT office for the night instead of sending him back to Cherlapally, the officials said they did not have such orders. They explained that the court’s order was about the timing of questioning, but not where the accused would stay for the night.

Upon learning this, the advocates filed petition on Saturday, however, the ACB court postponed the decision on this till Monday. It is believed that due to lack of security at ACB office, the trio were taken to the special SIT office. The other accused Sebastian Harry and Uday Simha were brought to ACB office in the morning while Revanth was taken to ACB office only in the afternoon after conducting medical tests at Cherlapally jail.

In the meantime, the advocate Sudheer Kumar and others protested outside the ACB headquarters in Banjara Hills for not allowing MLA’s counsel inside the building.
