Krishnapatnam Port in Nellore was badly damaged due to the Tsunami in the year 2004. When the officials of the port approached United Insurance for the Insurance Claim of Rs 1.53 crore, The request has been turned down stating the damage was solely due to the natural disaster.

The issue reached National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in the year 2006 and final judgement was delivered a few days ago. The Commission ruled in favour of the Insurance Company as the loss comes under the clause 'Act Of God'.
