AP Govt to issue land acquisition notification on May 14
Shattered by Capital region farmers approaching High Court and seeking their lands back for which agreements have already been signed, AP Government has decided to collect the necessary land for construction of the capital city through land acquisition.
Chandrababau Naidu Government will invoke the Land Acquisition Act for the purpose.
The government is likely to issue notification for land acquisition on May 14 covering the villages Rayapudi, Undavalli, Penumaka, Betampudiand Nidamarru in Guntur district.
AP Capital Region Development Region ( CRDA) officials have so far pooled 33,000 acres and completed agreements with farmers covering a land of 10,700 acres.
The Government wants to complete agreements with farmers on or before May 15 but this possibility seems to be remote as more than 300 farmers have approached the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad and sought their lands back.
Those who approached the High Court included some farmers who gave consent letters to the CRDA for the construction of the capital city.
