The Andhra Pradesh Journalists' JAC has decided to venture on a massive movement to convince the centre of implementing section-8 in Hyderabad as per the state reorganization law. Stating that the failure of the centre to entrust the state with the assurance of section-8 has resulted in the threat to the self respect of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The Journalists' JAC met in Vijayawada along with several politicians and NGOs and called for statewide protests by the people. Calling that the state's separation will stand invalid and ridiculous if the section-8 is not implemented, the lawyers' JAC demanded that the centre must entrust the Governor with full powers of Hyderabad.

TDP minister Prathipati Pulla Pao said that his party is committed to exert pressure on the central government regarding the implementation of section-8 and that if in case the centre fails to implement it, Hyderabad should come under the centre's powers under the article 3. The protesting journalists also warned the governments of an intense movement like the United AP movement for the realization of their demands.
