AP students pull off what TG students,Telangana movement,Telangana region formed,Telangana students JAC,Telangana,AP students' JAC,AP region fought
During the separate Telangana movement, thousands of students from all the universities in the Telangana region formed a students' JAC and fought relentlessly with the state and central governments to realize their dreams of a separate state. There is no exaggeration in stating that the student revolutions were on par with the political leaders. At last, much as a tribute to the student warriors, Telangana was announced as the 29th state of India.
At the same time, even the students from the AP region fought for united Andhra through their JAC but were overpowered by the murky politics by the leaders at the state and central level. After almost a year, the AP students' JAC is back on the revolutionary mode and this time to fight the centre and the state governments with their demand for special status to AP.
Yesterday, the Andhra students' JAC organized a round table conference and invited several political leaders who have been voicing their dissent against the centre's deceit by not sticking to their poll promise of according special status to AP. The students were appreciated of their selfless efforts by senior politicians like AP PCC Chief Raghuveera Reddy and former minister Botcha Satyananrayana and film star turned politician Sivaji.
Speaking on the occasion, Sivaji encourage the students to intensify their protests to move the state and central governments in announcing the special status and even asked them to block national highways and sit for silent protests. The students' JAC members too have made a resolution not to budge until the special status is granted.
After their failure in taming the powerful politicians during the United AP protests, this is yet another challenge to the AP students to show their might. Can they succeed in overpowering the murky politics this time? Can the AU students manage to move the centre just like the Telangana students did for separate state?
