Class X CBSE students from TS,AP surpass national average
Hyderabad: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states have surpassed the national pass percentage in the class X Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results. Both Telangana and AP registered 99.72 and 99.86 pass percentage respectively, while the national pass percentage stood at 97.32.
Between two Telugu-speaking states, AP scored 0.14 per cent higher than Telangana. The CBSE has announced the Class X results on Thursday. As many as 1,4070 candidates appeared for examinations from 156 schools in AP. Of the total 1,4051 students passed the examination accounting to 99.86 pass percentage. And 19 students are eligible for improvement of performance.
Whereas in Telangana 1,6237 students appeared from 190 schools of which 1,6191 passed the examinations registering 99.72 pass percentage. As many as 46 students are eligible to apply for improvemet of performance. Following the announcement of the results the website of the CBSE crashed for an hour. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Jubilee Hills, Principal C Rama Devi said their school achieved cent percent results. She added that 37 students scored 10 grade, 84-A1, 82-A2 grade.
At the national level the pass percent has dropped from 98.87 in 2014 to 97.32 in 2015. Thiruvanathapurm region recorded highest pass percentage in the county with 99.77 followed by Chennai region with 99.03 per cent. Girls outshined boys. The percentage of girls qualified for admissions in higher classes is 97.82 as compared to that of boys which 96.98.
