Cash-for-vote scam, forensic lab says tapes are genuine
Hyderabad: The Forensic Science Laboratory has submitted a preliminary report to the special court of the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday regarding the genuineness of audiotape and videotape in the cash-for-vote case.
A top APFSL official confirmed that the report has been submitted in the court regarding video conversations of nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson and accused TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy. However, voices in the tapes are yet to be verified as test samples were unavailable.
The report submitted by the APFSL to the ACB court also includes the alleged audio conversation between AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Mr Stephenson.
APFSL sources said that the both the recordings were found to be genuine and not tampered with. However, the voices in the tapes are yet to be verified as the test samples were not available. The APFSL also filed copies of the video and audio recordings in the court.
“With this, we can kill two birds with one stone wherein the report can be used to oppose Mr Revanth Reddy’s bail plea in High Court and also serve a notice on Mr Naidu. The report submitted has been submitted in a sealed cover to the court,” said a senior police official on condition of anonymity.
An ACB official said, “We will file a memo in the court seeking the preliminary report and will proceed further in the case after receiving the report.”
