Hyderabad: The Confederation of Indian Industry CII (Southern Region) has conferred its prestigious Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Excellence-2014 award on Eisai Pharmatechnology & Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd (EPM), Visakhapatnam. The award is given to organisations which adopt excellent practices in Environmental Health and safety. It is aimed at providing recognition and encouragement to the organisations.

About 130 companies from South India competed to secure the prestigious award and EPM got the first place among the large-scale industries under Chemicals/refineries/pharma/food sector. EPM was also awarded with ‘4 star rating trophy’ for its commitment to Environment, Health and Safety practices and policies for the year 2014.

CII auditors made an on-site assessment of all the participating industries and evaluated their EHS systems & practices on about 150 parameters. Based on the rating among all the contenders in large-scale sector and also in Food/pharma/chemical & refinery sector, EPM was picked for the awards.

On behalf of the company, awards were received by senior officials Anand Galphade and K Srinivas Rao at a glittering function held at Hotel Park Sheraton in Chennai on March 14. Anand Galphade, DGM-Projects, Engg & EHS, Eisai Pharma, said Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management has been an integral and essential part of the company’s manufacturing and research activities, not only since the commencement of operations but also during the construction and start-up of the facility.The CII EHS Excellence award has further strengthened the commitment of all Eisai employees to make continued efforts for sustaining the performance.
