Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday defended External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is caught in a row over facilitating travel documents in the UK for the scam-tainted former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi.

Speaking at a press conference on Jammu and Kashmir floods, Mr. Jaitley said, "The government and the BJP are of one view that all charges against her (Sushma Swaraj) are baseless."

Earlier, Mr. Jaitley, Ms. Swaraj and Mr. Singh met for over an hour at Mr. Singh's chamber before the press conference.
