KCR foundation stands on bundle of lies says Shabbir Ali

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress Vice-President and MLC Mohammed Ali Shabbir has ridiculed the statement of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wherein he claimed that he doesn't lie like other politicians.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Sunday, Shabbir Ali said that KCR's claim that he doesn't tell lies, itself is a biggest lie. Referring to KCR's speech in Mahabubnagar district on Saturday, he said that the Chief Minister should introspect before making such claims. "KCR's foundation stands on a bunch of lies. He came to power on the basis of lies and still using the same skills for survival. KCR is habitual liar," he said.

The Congress leader played two video clippings of KCR's speeches, incidentally delivered in Mahabubnagar district during election campaign, to prove his point. In the first speech, KCR promised that he would make a Dalit, the first Chief Minister of Telangana. Else, he said his head should be separated from his neck. In the second speech delivered in Shadnagar, KCR promised to implement 12% reservation for Muslims within four months after coming to power. "What happened to those promises? Mr Chandrashekar Rao himself became the Chief Minister and Muslim reservation is a distant dream even after five months," Shabbir Ali said.

Similarly, the Chief Minister went back on his words on providing assistance to the families of Telangana martyrs. The TRS Government reduced the figure of martyrs from more than 2,000 to just 459 and of them, 23 martyrs' addresses have been mentioned as Not Available. There is no clarity on the status of giving government jobs to members of their family, cultivable land, housing, free education and health care, he said.

"KCR also lied to farmers by promising eight hours power supply despite knowing well that there was shortage of power. He told a series of lies on crop loan waiver up to Rs 1 lakh. His lies resulted in nearly 300 farmers committing suicide. Likewise, KCR lied about withdrawing cases related to Telangana agitation. Only minor cases were withdrawn and hundreds of students are still facing major charges," Shabbir Ali said.

The Congress leader said KCR holds a kind of record in lying to the people. Therefore, he appealed to the Chief Minister to stop projecting himself as a saint and focus on implementation of promises that he made with the people before elections.
