Land pooling,Justice A Rajasekhar Reddy
Justice A Rajasekhar Reddy of the High Court at Hyderabad on Monday refused to make any interim orders regarding land pooling process to acquire land for construction of new capital for state of Andhra Pradesh unless the court is satisfied that there is imminent danger to the interests of farmers.
The judge was dealing with a writ plea filed by B Siva Rami Reddy and others that they were small farmers and were being deprived of lands. Lands were their only source of livelihood. The Additional Advocate General informed the court that there was time to file objections and the case was premature.
The counsel for the petitioners wanted to go ahead with the arguments contending that the applications would never be finalised and there was violation of statute. The judge repeatedly asked the counsel to satisfy the court on the urgency of the situation. The court felt that the case could be heard after filing the counter affidavit and adjourned the case by three weeks.
