Hyderabad Metro Rail willn't be functioning from Ugadi this year due to multiple factors. Although several Trail Runs were held on the 1st Phase stretch of Metro Rail, Commissioner of Rail Safety is yet issue an final all-clear certificate.

Senior Officials of Hyd Metro Rail informs there will be traffic chaos if the operations were started in a hurry as buses need to be arranged to shift passengers from Mettuguda (Termination Point) to Secunderabad Railway Station. They say , 'Metro Rail should be linked to the Railway Station first to start the services of 1st Phase. Secunderabad Railway Station could be connected only when Rail over Bridges (RoBs) are constructed at Chilkalguda, Oliphant and Alugaddabavi. It takes 10 Months to built these RoBs. Hence, The First Phase of Hyd Metro Rail will be functioning only in 2016.'

Hyd Metro Rail Officials are determined to complete the project as per the deadline (July 2017).
