After outrage over Madras High Court order granting bail to a rape accused to mediate with the victim, the rape survivor has broken her silence slamming the decision.

The rape survivor has told CNN-IBN that she is not ready to speak to her rapist and does not want to marry him. Questioning the decision of the High Court to grant bail to the accused for mediation, she said, “I am not ready to talk or get married to him. Why are they asking me to talk to him after seven years?”

The victim was reportedly a minor when the incident happened, and later lost her parents. The victim also gave birth to a child after the rape.

The decision by the Madras High Court to release the accused on bail came after the alleged culprit filed an appeal and a bail petition. The judge who granted bail to the accused claimed that he had referred a similar case for mediation and the result of it was positive.
