Tanuku : The YSR Congress president and Leader of Opposition in the AP Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday launched his 48-hour long protest here, on Saturday. Addressing the gathering, Jaganmohan Reddy said that he had decided to stand by the farmers who were betrayed by the Telugu Desam Party and the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
He alleged that the TDP had failed to fulfill its election promises of loan waiver to the farmers, weavers and women. He said that the TD chief had made several impossible promises only to get votes and was now going back on the promises. He said he had understood the difficulties of the people, particularly the farmers and the women who believed in Chandrababu Naidu who did not repay their loans to the banks.

He said that the banks were taking away the small savings of the women terming them defaulters while the gold and other properties of the farmers were being attached. Jaganmohan Reddy further recalled that Chandrababu Naidu had promised employment to one person in every family.
He said that the TD had intensively campaigned that Babu would bring jobs. The youth too were betrayed by the government as not a single job was created in the last seven months, he said. The YSR Congress chief made the representatives of farmers, weavers and women to speak on the loan waiver.
