Vijayawada: The State government is planning to shift some of its employees to the new capital area, as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu himself is planning to move out of Hyderabad. The Chief Minister had already finalised his camp office in Vijayawada city and his residence at Undavalli along river Krishna.

It is said that the Chief Minister is likely to stay in the new capital for three days a week, particularly after laying foundation stone for the capital on Vijayadasami day. As the CM had already decided to stay in the new capital, the government is planning to shift most of the officers to the new capital.

The State government had directed the Roads and Buildings Department to identify the vacant apartments between Vijayawada and Guntur cities to provide housing for the employees. The officials have visited the gated community located in front of Acharya Nagarjuna University and took the list of vacant flats.

These flats would be given to the Heads of Departments, who would be moving out of Vijayawada soon. The officers of the Roads and Buildings department also visited the apartments at Tadepalli and Mangalagiri area along the National Highway to identify the vacant flats. They have also visited the Lotus Land Mark in Vijayawada city.

According to the sources, the officials were also visiting the 29 capital area villages to identify suitable independent houses for senior IAS and IPS officials.
