Online e-challan system Launched in Telangana

Hyderabad and Cyberabad traffic police has introduced an integrated online e-challan system for both the Commissionerates with one database and a single window payment system.

This will help the police quickly identify the offender’s history of traffic violations irrespective of the area, and will let commuters pay their challans in any Commissionerate.

A mobile application named ‘Traffic E-Challan Telangana’ has also been launched, which will help commuters pay the fine using debit/credit card and internet banking.

This free app, which can be downloaded from Google play store, will also help commuters check if there is pending challan on their vehicle by just entering their vehicle details.

Cyberabad commissioner of police C.V. Anand said that this system is the first successful formula ever attempted in the country.

After launching the integrated e-challan system along with the app, Telangana home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that this will be implemented in other districts of state.

“Both Commissionerates needed co-ordination, and the use of technology will help in that. This will also help reduce corruption, and increase discipline on the road” he said.

The home minister further asked both police commissioners to bring awareness among the public about the new system using media.

Earlier, both Commissionerates had two different databases and e-challan systems. Now, both databases have been converted into one, which can be accessed by cops irrespective of Commissionerates.
