Lake Police saved two persons in two separate incidents who tried to commit suicide by jumping into the Hussain Sagar Lake on Thursday. N Renuka, 30, of Bansilalpet was seen wandering near the lake. Minutes later, she began walking into the water, police said. A constable, Devender, and the homeguard, Narsimha, attached to the Lake Police Station, spotted her near Sailing Club and rescue her.  

“Renuka’s husband, Jagadish, started harassing her for petty things and used to abuse her. Due to depression, she tried to end her life,” Lake Police inspector P Janakamma said. In a separate incident, Mehaboobunissa, 22, a housewife of Charminar area, was rescued by the cops when she tried to commit suicide by jumping into the lake. She was also rescued by the police.
