A 15-year-old tribal girl, who had been raped allegedly by her school headmaster for over three years in Kondagav district of Chhattisgarh, gave birth last month.

“The Class 10 student claimed that the headmaster had been raping her since she was in Class 7 after luring her with chocolates, biscuits and sweets. The headmaster, Madhav Naag, was arrested after the complaint was lodged two days ago,” Kondagav Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishekh Meena said.

The incident took place under the Makadi police station of Kondagav. “The victim’s parents were reluctant to lodge a complaint initially but agreed to do so after some persuasion by the local police,” the SP said.
