The Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC) has been mandated by the Andhra Pradesh Government to highlight the rich heritage, traditions and Bhakti literature and glory of Godavari River and temples on the basic of the mighty river during the forthcoming Godavari Pushkaralu from July 14 to 25.
The chairman of the specified authority on TTD Sri J S V Prasad who chaired a review meeting at SVBC office in Tirupati today said the TTD and the state endowment department would jointly take up various cultural and other activities to facilitate the huge mass of devotees anticipated at all Godavari basin bathing ghats and Temples.
He said the SVBC, the pioneer Bhakti channel of TTD will play a pivotal role in popularising the Pushkaram by producing programs on its significance, arrangements for first-aid,sanitation, drinking water, toilets and Annadanam activities at all the bathing ghats and Godavari basin temples. More particularly the SVBC will produce programs on Godavari river and Pushkarams besides audio cassettes etc on the slokas found in ancient scripts and sankeertans composed by saint singers on the importance of Godavari river.
Sri Prasad said the agenda of SVBC and TTD was to spread awareness among the devotees and general public on the glory of the mighty Godavari. The SVBC would also produce special episodes on the historical and mythological heritage of Godavari river.
The specified authority chairman said the TTD will also install some sets and stalls at most of the bathing ghats and Godavari basin temples to popularize the activities of the TTD while making every effort to ensure success of the fortnight long Godavari Pushkarams.
