Speakers at a round-table meeting on “Conspiracies on Hyderabad – Section 8 of APRA” alleged that the leaders of Seemandhra, particularly those of Telugu Desam Party, have brought Section 8 onto the scene now as part of their conspiracy to scuttle development of Telangana and to exploit Hyderabad further.
Secretary general of Telangana Rashtra Samithi K. Keshava Rao observed that the talk on Section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act is aimed at both diverting people’s attention from the cash-for-vote case in which several TDP leaders are involved and to derail the development of the newly-formed Telangana State.
He suggested the TDP leaders to stop speaking on Section 8 without any understanding of it as it would not save the culprits in the cash-for-vote case.
The TRS MP explained that Section 8 institutes both responsibilities and powers in the Governor, if the situation warranted.
“Seemandhra people can avail the facilities in Hyderabad and live here but it belongs to the people of Telangana,” he asserted.
Stating that the talk of Section 8 as another attempt of Seemandhra leaders to
