reason behind Sunanda Pushkar's death, Sunanda Pushkar's death reason, reason behind Shashi tharoor wife's death
New Delhi: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday alleged that Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor was killed in a professional way.
"Sunanda Pushkar had said she would expose the IPL deals. Robert Vadra's name would also have surfaced," Swamy said.
Demanding a court-monitored investigation in the Sunanda's death case, Swamy said that he will be filing a PIL very soon.
Swamy has maintained throughout that there was a foul play in Sunanda's death. He had earlier said that there was evidence that former Union minister Shashi Tharoor's wife was murdered using Russian poison, adding that he had the proof to support his charges.
While the case remains hazy with no clear indication as to how former Union minister Shashi Tharoor's wife died in a Delhi five-star hotel early this year, a top doctor of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences has sensationally alleged on Tuesday that he was 'pressured' to act in an 'unprofessional manner' to cover up the case. Sunanda Pushkar's autopsy was manipulated, says top AIIMS doctor
Dr. Sudhir Gupta, head of forensic sciences at AIIMS, has filed an affidavit, accessed by Aaj Tak, in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) claiming that he was 'pressured' by former Union minister and president of AIIMS, Ghulam Nabi Azad, to act in an 'unprofessional' manner to cover up the matter.
"(The) applicant could not muster courage of openly placing the facts in black and white as the former president of AIIMS Ghulam Nabi Azad was an immensely powerful politician and the then health minister, and the husband of late Sunanda Pushkar was also a minister and a powerful politician," the affidavit stated.
Gupta, who was heading the panel that conducted Sunanda's postmortem, has asked in his application to CAT to allow him to give his views in sealed envelope. To buttress his point, Gupta submitted details of emails exchanged between AIIMS director and Tharoor.
Incidentally, Gupta's disclosure comes at a point of time when he was slapped with charges of plagiarism and misconduct.
On his part, Gupta has alleged that there was a conspiracy to oust him as the head of the department just three days before the new NDA government was formed. In his letter to the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, challenging promotion of Dr O.P. Murty as professor, alleging it violated AIIMS rule, Gupta claimed that the AIIMS authorities had an agenda to oust him for his role in the post-mortem of Sunanda and Nido Tania because he had "taken a professional and ethical stand which went against vested interests of certain persons in AIIMS."
On the other hand, Shashi Tharoor has refused to comment on the matter and said that he will cooperate in the probe.
