Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have identified the girl who was found burnt alive in a park in the IAS Colony in Punjagutta on Friday.

The girl, identified as Pujita of Nandigama, was studying for her Charted Accountancy course, police said.

Police are said to have informed Pujith's parents about her death.

Meanwhile, police are seriously investigating the circumstances leading to Pujita's death and are trying to asertain whether her death was a suicide or murder. They are trying to cover all angles with regards to the girl's death.

According to police, Pujita is said to have come to Hyderabad on March 18 from Nandigama. She is said to have even gifted a T-shirt to a friend. Police further said that a suicide note was found inside the T-shirt.

The police are also checking the call data from her cell phone.

Meanwhile, reports are emerging that the girl's friend identified as Ashok is said to have surrendered himself at Nampally police station. However, police are yet to reveal this information.
