Lucknow: After Maggi, Complan has found itself in a new controversy, as a woman in Lucknow has complained of finding hundrerds of worms in her new pack of the energy drink.
The complaint has prompted the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) to send samples for testing and the authorities were also served notice for selling a “poor quality product” to the manufacturer of Complan.
“I wouldn’t have noticed if there were one or two worms, but there were hundreds in the packet. Some were white in colour while a few were black,” she was reproted as saying.
Nestle, manufacturer of Maggi Noodles was caught in a controversy only recently for finding high levels of lead and MSG in their products that forced the company to withdraw nine varities of the noodles from the shelf, despite the lab tests done by the company showed that the product was safe.
FSSAI had said it will test samples of instant noodles across brands to ensure food safety and also examine branded pasta and macaroni products. The actors who endorsed the products were also in soup for a while until later the FSSAI asserted that it’s not considering any action against brand ambassadors as of now.
