The final tally of the GHMC elections has been declared and TRS slipped down from its previous majority and settled its finally tally at 99 seats. MIM stood in the second position with 44 seats, while the TDP-BJP alliance and Congress suffered a shameful defeat by winning 5 and 2 seats respectively.
Looking at the shocking defeat of TDP and Congress, many are opining that YSRCP took a right decision by not contesting in the GHMC elections and eventually escaped from a terrible defeat. YSRCP literally has no leadership or a strong cadre in the GHMC region.
With Jagan's limited popularity and the might of TRS and MIM with additional competition from TDP and Congress, YSRCP would have been bowled out for a duck. Now, Jagan's entire concentration will be on devising new strategies to strengthen his party in AP and take on Babu in the 2019 elections.
