Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has received 20,000 bookings within the first fortnight of the launch of compact SUV Vitara Brezza while it will start delivering the new model to customers from Friday. “Within the first fortnight of its launch, the Vitara Brezza has received around 70,000 customer enquiries and 20,000 bookings,” MSI said in a statement.
Deliveries of Vitara Brezza will commence from March 25. The vehicles will be retailed from the company’s over 1,800 sales outlets spread across India, it added.
MSI Executive Director Marketing and Sales R S Kalsi said customers have appreciated the new model for “its sporty and muscular design and the combination of features offered at multiple trim levels”.
“Our endeavor now is to deliver these cars quickly so that customers can enjoy their Vitara Brezza,” he added.
Vitara Brezza was unveiled at Auto Expo 2016 and formally launched on March 8 at an introductory price range of Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 9.68 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The model marks Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the popular compact SUV segment in India. The vehicle is available only in diesel fuel and is powered by a 1.3 litre engine.
It is among the first of a new range of products in which the company’s Indian engineers have played a bigger role in designing and development as parent Suzuki looks to enhance base here.
MSI Executive Director R&D, C V Raman led the designing and development. The company has invested Rs 860 crore on the development of the vehicle.
Vitara Brezza is the second of the 15 new models that MSI will launch over five years as it aims to sell two million units annually by 2020.
