Easily the most eagerly awaited film debut ever in Tollywood, Akhil Akkineni's first film Akhil, bit the dust miserably after releasing amid heavy expectations and a great promise. The film, which was made on a budget of nearly 40 crores, failed to recover at least 60 per cent of its investments to the distributors.
And naturally, a majority of the blame is being borne by one of Tollywood's leading directors VV Vinayak. Speaking about the film for the first time after it's disaster, Vinayak said that he made a grave mistake with Akhil and requested the fans and film fraternity to pardon him for the loss. Vinayak went on to promise that he will be more cautious from now on and see that such mistakes will never repeat again.
Vinayak even said that everyone in Tollywood makes mistakes except Rajamouli and that he felt that he made a huge blunder for the first time in his career with Akhil. Vinayak stated that he will bounce back with a roaring hit with his next film. It is well known that Vinayak's next flick will be Megastar's Kaththi.
