Controversial cricketer S Sreesanth on Tuesday announced that BJP Leadership offered him Assembly ticket to contest in upcoming Kerala elections.
Speaking to Media, Sreesanth told: 'My candidature will be announced Tomorrow. BJP asked me to choose one among Ernakulam and Tripunithura Assembly segments. My priority would be Tripunithura'.
Sreesanth claimed there is a lot of Left Parties influence on his family. He, however, says his wife's family has always been supporters of BJP.
BCCI imposed a ban on Sreesanth after Match Fixing allegations surfaced and he was lodged in Tihar Jail for several days. In July last year, A Patiala Court acquitted Sreesanth in the match-fixing case. BCCI refused to lift ban & Delhi Police have appealed against the Court order. The last match he played was during IPL 2013.
Luckily, Sreesanth was a member of Indian Team in 2007 T20 and 2011 ODI World Cups won under Dhoni's captaincy. He represented the country in 27 Tests, 53 ODIs and 10 T20s.
