Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu hit out at the media for not giving sufficient coverage to Fleet Review held in Vizag and instead highlighting Mudragada Padmanabham’s fast for Kapu reservation.
Speaking to mediapersons in Vijayawada on Monday, he said media has highlighted the Kapu agitation and Kapu leader’s comments instead of the prestigious Fleet Review held in Vizag in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present.
The TDP chief said that Fleet Review held in Vizag was a historical event he ever attended. “I’m feeling proud to have held it in Vizag. But, what is the intention of writing in particular about someone’s comments on me leaving aside the main event? You are unnecessarily prioritizing unimportant things”, the CM said referring to media highlighting Mudragada’s fast.
Chief Minister stated that Mudragada and his wife have called off their fast on the request of government. The government has already recognized that there are poor people in Kapu community and will definitely extend its support for them.
Manjunathan Committee’s report will come in nine months and the government will allot Rs.100 crore per annum for the welfare of the community.
A probe has been ordered on the train arson incident and the law will take its own course, the CM added.
