Citizens plunged into festive mood as chart busters like 'Holi khele Raghuveera', 'Rang barse' and popular Bhojpuri songs reverberated in the air on the eve of Holi.
At crowded commercial hubs, revelers indulged in last-minute shopping despite blazing heat. Shops at Maldahiya, Dalmandi, Godowlia and Lanka attracted a large number of buyers. Kids were busy purchasing pichkaris (sprinklers) and colourful herbal sprays.
Young revellers were seen donning stylish hats and coloured wigs.
Revellers, mainly youngsters clad in vibrant colours were playfully splashing abeer and gulal on friends and family members. Students of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) were seen smearing each others' faces with gulal after classes, greeting wishes.
