AP Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao visited the water-harvesting site at Vinukonda in Guntur district on Saturday.
Speaking on the water issues in the state, the Minister assured that he would secure river water interests and stated that he had placed in his request with the Krishna Board to release water for drinking water purposes in the districts across the state.
Devineni Uma is hopeful that the Board would grant the permission shortly. The Minister further hailed the efforts of Eenadu-ETV group for saving water and thanked the Chairman of the Group, Ramoji Rao for taking up the 'Sujala-Suphalam' programme.
