Sycophancy is the hall mark of every political party, dominated by one family. And the Telugu Desam Party led by Nara Chandrababu Naidu is no exception.
These days, the TDP seem to be suffering from Lokesh mania. Ever since Naidu hinted at inducting his son Nara Lokesh into the Cabinet, the party leaders are virtually competing with one another in showering praises on Lokesh and demanding his inclusion into the Cabinet.
Not a single day passes without one leader or the other issuing a statement in support of Lokesh’s induction into the Cabinet.
Some of them are displaying more-loyal-than-the king attitude by offering to quit their MLA and MLC seats to enable election of Lokesh in their place.
Minister for Information and Public Relations Palle Raghunath Reddy on Thursday went a step ahead and wanted that Lokesh be made the Chief Minister of the State.
“He has all the capabilities of leading the State. He has been working hard for the party and was responsible for enrolment of 54 lakh members. He will shine as a minister and even as the Chief Minister,” he said.
Another TDP MLC Rajendra Prasad said Lokesh can win the MLA seat from any of the 16 Assembly constituencies in Krishna district with a thumping majority of over one lakh votes. His induction into the Cabinet would give a big boost to the youth in the state, he said.
