Nellore: Elaborate security arrangements are being made for Chief Minister's visit to Nellore district on Saturday. Police deployed as many as 1,200 personnel for the programme. The CM will lay foundation stone for the third 800 MW unit of Genco's Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station after dedicating the first and second 800 MW plants to the nation in the morning. Thereafter he will inaugurate the Sembcorp Gayatri Power Complex houses, two identical supercritical coal-fired power plants with a total capacity of 2,640 megawatts.
The two plants are located close to Genco's power plant. Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu, Piyush Goyal, Prakash Javedkar, R.S. Chowdary and minister for trade and industry (industry), Singapore, Mr S. Iswaran, Rajya Sabha MP T. Subbarami Reddy and Mr Ang Kong Hua, chairman, Sembcorp Industries will take part in the inauguration of Sembcorp-Gayatri plant. The union ministers will also participate in the Genco programme.
