Civic body, MEPMA to build 12,000 toilets in non-UGD areas

Nizamabad: The Nizamabad Municipal Corporation and Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) jointly organized Swachh Bharat-Swachh Telangana programme in Nizamabad Municipal Corporation and issued the sanctioned letters for constructing lavatories at Non-UGD area.

Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy inaugurated the programme and issued sanction letters to the beneficiaries at Ambedkar Bhavan here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister requested everyone to use lavatories instead of open places since sanitation plays an important role in protecting our health.

He said nearly 6,000 families were living in non-UGD areas in Nizamabad Municipal Corporation and the Corporation has decided to build 12,000 lavatories in these areas. The government decided to supply drinking water in three and half years.
