Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will hit the road on July 3 to launch Telangana government’s prestigious Telangana ku Harita Haaram. Mr Rao’s four-day itinerary from July 3 to July 6 will cover Ranga Reddy, Medak, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Adilabad districts in the first phase. He will travel in a bullet proof bus, which was assembled in Chandigarh.
According to CMO sources, the luxury bus will be in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The CM will offer prayers at Chilkur Balaji temple in Moinabad of Ranga Reddy district and formally launch the programme by planting the first sapling followed by Social Welfare Residential Hostel, Chilkur, Medipally, Narapally and Hyderabad on July 3.
The next day he will plant saplings at Tumkunta, Shameerpet, Turkapally, Siddipet, and other places en route, before stopping for a night halt at Karimnagar. After completing the programme in Karimnagar, he will plant saplings in select places in Adilabad and end his tour in Nizamabad district on July 6.
Forest minister Jogu Ramanna said Haritha Haaram greenery drive across Telangana state is one of the three biggest schemes in the world. The government has planned to plant 230 crore saplings across the state to increase greenery as well as forest cover from the present about 20 per cent to 33 per cent in next four years.
“Haritha Haram, Telangana Water Grid and Mission Kakatiya are three biggest schemes in the world. Haritha Haram will go down in the history as one of the best schemes,” he said.
